The Sober in the Seat Mission

The mission at Sober in the Seat is to educate drivers of all ages — from teenagers, to college students, to adults — and provide them with a positive image of sober driving. We achieve this goal by including a positive mantra in each driver education program, everywhere.

We're on a mission to instill a positive visual for drivers, from teens to adults, every day of the year. You have a choice before every event you attend. Make the decision to be a sober driver. Psychological studies have shown that when the mind hears a negative message, stress chemicals are released and the listener experiences anxiety and irritability which undermine cooperation and trust. The result is the message, no matter how well-intentioned, is lost. Current educational efforts designed to illustrate the horrors of "drunk driving" consist of negative warnings about "Don't drink & drive" and horrendous car crash movies intended to scare our young drivers. Unfortunately, this type of dire tactics falls on deaf ears because of the negative context. "Sober in the Seat" offers a powerful positive subconscious & visual alternative.
